BCOMM played a pivotal role in expanding the renowned Black Food & Wine Experience (BFWE) from the San Francisco Bay Area to Detroit, marking the first time the festival ventured beyond its home base.

With over six years of success celebrating Black culinary excellence, culture, and education, BFWE sought to bring its unique multi-sensory experience to a new city, and BCOMM was tasked with leading several key areas, including Business Development, Project management, Graphic Design and Communications.
Working closely with the Founder of BFWE, Chef Mimi, and her team, we developed and finalized a sponsorship structure that aligned with the festival’s mission of celebrating Black talent in food and wine, while attracting national and local partners to support the Detroit debut. The three-day festival featured signature events like the Grand Tasting and the Black Renaissance Dinner, providing a platform for Black chefs, vintners, and cultural artisans to showcase their craft in a new market!

BCOMM’s Scope in Focus…
Business Development
We worked closely on structuring and negotiating the sponsorship deal on behalf of Bedrock for the Black Food & Wine Experience.
Graphic Design
We crafted and designed a suite of promotional materials, including flyers for the Main Event, Hotel, Kick-off Reception, Grand Tasting, Black Renaissance Dinner, as well as panelist and vendor announcement graphics for social media.
Communications
We supported the Black Food & Wine Experience by developing and executing key communication initiatives, including crafting event messaging, coordinating stakeholder communications, and ensuring brand consistency across marketing, sponsorship, and promotional materials.

BFWE Detroit not only showcased Black culinary excellence but also strengthened ties between local and national food and wine communities. The festival was a testament to BFWE’s ongoing mission to spotlight Black culture through food, wine, and education, creating unforgettable experiences for all involved.
